Summer Camps and Clinics Available to GYHA Players

There are some hockey camps and clinics to be offered in our area this summer that your hockey player may like to take part in.  Camps and clinics are a great way to have fun while sharpening the skills over the summer.  Read below for more information:

Stan Moore (Colby College Head Coach) Clinic at Kents Hill (JUNE 18-22)

This Development Clinic is hosted by Kents Hill School, Bonnefond Arena,  from June 18th through June 22nd.

The clinic is a great way to prepare for tryouts or to enjoy a solid, end of the school year beginning to preparation for future hockey camps and clinics.

Each session is 90 minutes long and will also provide an important training and conditioning effect which is essential to players' practice progression.

Again, the maximum number for skaters is thirty (minimum is twenty).

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions about our clinic

I hope to see you next Monday.

Rousseau’s Clinic Returns to KIA for Summer Programs (JUL9 – for 7 weeks)

Rousseau’s Hockey clinics offer young hockey players between the ages of 6 and 15 the opportunity to develop fundamental hockey skills and to apply those skills each week in a controlled scrimmage. We have divided our summer youth clinic into our three core divisions. Each division will skate once a week for a total of seven weeks.

* Junior Division:

For players ages 6 through 9 who will compete at the

Mite and Squirt level. The curriculum will focus on

power skating.

* Minor Division:

For players ages 9 through 13 who will compete at the

Squirt and Pee-Wee levels. The emphasis is on power

skating with some exposure to stick handling, passing,

and game situation drills.

Each division will skate two hours per week. The first hour of ice time will consist of fundamental instruction. During the second hour of ice time, we will conduct a controlled scrimmage where we will concentrate on increasing the speed of play and offering individual instruction during playing time. Between hours, we will hold a classroom discussion where we will focus on various topics including: conditioning; mental preparation; and advanced team play.

Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis and space is limited to 33 skaters and 3 goaltenders. We encourage you not to hesitate in returning your applications. Our clinics fill very quickly and we are often forced maintain a waiting list. Upon receipt of your application, we will send you a schedule and a conditioning program that we encourage you to work on in preparation for the clinic.

** Goalies registered in our Summer Youth clinics will skate at a reduced tuition of $150.
